The Mitsio Islands And The Pearls Of The Cap



Recommended season: from April to June and from September to December

DAY 1: in the morning embarkation and 7 hours navigation to reach the Grande Mitsio. Trolling on the way. Arrival in the mid-afternoon at the foot of the imposing volcanic-shaped basalt rocks (Organ Pipes) with golden hues . Heading East to join Marimbe Bay, the only well-protected anchorage of this archipelago.
Excursion on the the island. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 2: we raise the anchor to Ankarea ,5 miles off. Superb scenery offered by this island, with high basaltic rocks, sorrounded by powdered-white sand where you can dive with fins, mask and snorkel into a coral garden.
Return to Marimbe for the night.

DAY 3: early departure to Tsarabanjina, 4 hours navigation. This luxuriant island, surrounded by powdered-white beaches and crystal clear water is a real paradise. Swimming and visit the tombs of the Sakavala Kings. According to the weather, possibility to spend the night at Tsarabanjina or short night navigation (approx. 6 hours) towards Sakatia.

DAY 4: visit to the quiet beaches of Sakatia, its village, vegetation and orchids. Day programme: swimming and a strolling on the island. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 5: navigation to South to reach an historical site, the Russian Bay, 20 nautical miles off. The river mouth is lined with countless nooks, many secluded beaches in perfect tranquillity.

DAY 6: coastal navigation between many islands and white sand beaches to join another paradise, Nosy Iranja. Anchorage to a thin strip of white sand linkung the two lush islets. Stroll on the island and visit to the lighthouse to enjoy a superb view. Lunch in front of the island.
Night at Baramamahy which can be reached after approx. 1 hour navigation and anchorage in one arm of the estuary lined with mangroves. Visit the traditional river, starting point to run the river through the heart of vegetation inhabited by a surprinsing and noisy wildlife.
Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 7: 4 hours sailing to anchor off the island Ankazoberava. Discovery with fins, mask and snorkel of its unspoiled coral reef and lunch on board. Navigation back to Nosy Be pushed by Talio (the West wind).
Arrival approx. at 5 p.m.
Circuit contract can be modified by weather conditions or according to customers’ decision in agreement with the captain.
