Circuit duration: 9 days/8 nights

Journey to the northern point of Madagascar in order to explore Antsiranana, its parks and reseves, waterfalls, caves, cathedrals and Tsingy.Concluding the trip with the island flavours such as cocoa, coffee, pepper and ylang ylang and making it more pleasant by visiting the neighbouring islands, with their deserted beaches of fine sand just for you, inviting you to dive and admire the colourful fish in the crystal sea..

DAY 1 MONDAY: PARIS/TANA
Leaving Paris on flight AF 908 at 10.20 a.m., arriving in Tana at 11.00 p.m.
Airport assistance and transfer to the hotel.

DAY 2 TUESDAY: TANA/ANTSIRANANA flight MD 310
Transfer to the airport for flight departing to Antsiranana or Diego Suarez at the northern end of the island, the capital of Antakarana tribes.
The “Varatraza” wind (“the Force of Nature”) a hot, dry wind that blows especially during the winter, is characteristic of the region. Transfer to the hotel.
Lunch and departure to visit the “Red Tsingy”, a spectacular network of blocks of limestones carved with red coloured ,sharp peaks. Short overview of the largest Tsingy of Ankarana.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 WEDNESDAY: ANTSIRANANA/AMBER MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK(35 KM)
Excursion to the Amber Mountain National Park, a volcanic massif covered with rainforest, located at 850 to1475 mt. altitude. It is a unique reserve with 7 species of lemurs, including the famous “Eulemur coronatus”, over 75 species of birds, such as the “crested Ibis” and nearly 25 species of amphibians. Waterfalls, volcanic crater lakes and others attractions of the reserve. Picnic lunch and return to Diego through Joffre City, former Fady (Tabù) site, transformed by Marshal Joffre into garrison and resort for Diego settlers. Joffre City became almost a ghost town, dspite its beautiful colonial houses , now in ruin.

DAY 4 THURSDAY: DIEGO/ANKARANA (80 KM)
After breakfast, departure for the Ankarana massif through Anivorano; possibility during the dry season to visit the Sacred Lake where Zebus sacrifices to worship the crocodiles are practised. Ankarana, an extraordinary geological discovery:the caves and the cathedrals but especially the famous “Tsingy”, karstic limestone peaks eroded by rain, are worth a visit.
An extraordinary natural phenomenon dating back to about 200 million years. The park houses a diversified vegetation and several species of lemurs, birds, reptiles and amphibians.
Full board accomodation in bivouac.

DAY 5 FRIDAY:ANKARANA/ANFIKY (120 KM)
Second visit to the reserve from another viewpoint in order to admire the”Grand Tsingy” .After lunch, driving on to Anfiky through Ambilobe, passing by a landscape of cocoa, coffee and ylang ylang plantations.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 6 SATURDAY: ANFIKY/NOSY BE
Transfer by boat to Nosy Be. Arrival at the port of “Nosy Manitra” or “Island of Perfumes”, with a sensuous welcoming in the charm of oriental fragrances of the flowers of ylang ylang, coffee, cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon. Hotel accomodation and lunch. Free beach holiday.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 7 SUNDAY: NOSY BE
Breakfast and departure for an excursion by boat to Nosy Komba, also known as “Lemur Island” for the conspicuous number of families of wild lemurs, the “Lemur Macaco,” living there. It is a traditional fishermen village, artisans of outrigger canoes. Then, to Nosy Tanikely, Sea National Park, ideal for diving and exploring the amazing spectacle of the colourful wildife of the coral reef and also for swimming.
Picnic lunch and return to Nosy Be.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 8 MONDAY: NOSY BE
The island tour includes a visit to thr embroidery market, the distillery of Ampasimenabe, known for the production of the essential oil of ylang ylang, followed by those to the old marina and the Indian village. Lunch and continuation of the island tour to the National Centre of Oceanographic Research to see different models of boats and the sea collections of the region. Visit to the royal tomb of Manongarivo “Mahabo” , a sacred graveyard of Queen Tsiomeko. Wonderful panorama of the lakes, the bay of Nosy Be and the sunset at Mont Passot, the highest point on the island.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 9 TUESDAY: NOSY BE/TANA flight MD325 (04.40 p.m./07.45 p.m.)/PARIS flight AF905 (01.30 a.m.)
Free morning at the hotel, lunch and transfer to the airport in the afternoon for the flight to Tana.Dinner and day use at the hotel.Transfer to the airport for flight AF 905 to Paris scheduled at 01.30 a.m.
